Prince's Islands

Board the boat from the Kabataş pier for a 60-minute sail to the Prince's Islands. There are nine islands, and we disembark at the largest and most famous one, Büyükada.

During the Byzantine days the islands collectively formed a religious centre with many monasteries. The name Prince's Islands derives from the princes sent there in exile — those regarded as pretenders to the throne.

In the afternoon, tour the island by electric carriages (phaetons), visit the Ayia Yorgi Church and Monastery dating back to the 6th century, and spend some free time at the local market.
